Unisot's digital product passport (or DPP for short) is a crucial part of our Home@ix tech collection. Unisot already complies with the new EU Act on Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) including the “EU Digital Product Passport”. Under new EU regulations which are coming into force over time, the EU DPP must make sure that everyone along the value chain, including consumers (that's you), economic operators (that's us) and national authorities, can access product information relevant to them, as well as include the necessary data to track 'all substances of concern' throughout the life cycle of the product (your home and the parts that make up your home).
DPP will also improve traceability of products along the value chain and facilitate the verification of product compliance by national authorities. Although we don't have to comply with these regulations right now, they are industry best practice and we plan to be ahead of the curve by implementing them now. It really is like a passport for your home, it'll give you (and anyone who lives there after you) important information about what went into building your home. The information in the passport makes running and repairing your home easier too.
